The Phillies win last night was dampened by some more rough news on the injury front.
Rookie second baseman Freddy Galvis, who went on the DL with a back strain a couple days ago, has been diagnosed with a pars fracture in his back.
The fracture is potentially serious and could keep Galvis out of the Phillies lineup for an extended period of time this season. In fact, Galvis could land himself in a back brace for the next six weeks.
Other players who have missed time with a similar injury last season include David Wright (67 days) and Clay Buchholz (103 days).
Galvis is hitting .226 with three home runs, 24 RBIs and a team-high 15 doubles.
