Check out this video between the Lehigh Valley IronPigs and Gwinnett Braves (Atlanta’s AAA team) from yesterday’s 10-1 IronPigs win.
Pigs second baseman Kevin Frandsen was nearly hit by a pitch from Braves pitcher Todd Redmond in the bottom of the 4th inning with the Pigs leading 6-0. After lining out, Frandsen and Redmond exchanged words from the dugout and mound.
The next batter was Domonic Brown. Brown ripped a solo home run off Redmond, and then flipped his bat and beat his chest to send a message and stand up for his teammate. Brown celebrated all the way round the bases and into the dugout.
Redmond then hit Erik Kratz with the following pitch and was ejected. The benches cleared as well but no punches were thrown.
Brown was 4-for-5 with two homers, a double and four runs scored and three RBIs.
The video shows some much-needed fire from Brown, who has been crushing the ball the past week and could find himself back in the Majors if he keeps it up.
Here is the video of the whole ordeal.
