Phils partake in Split Squad action

BLANKED BY YANKS — Kyle Kendrick got the start in the Phillies 3-0 loss to the Yankees. The right-hander went three scoreless innings, allowing three hits and striking out two.

Austin Hyatt allowed a two-run single to Chris Dickerson in the 4th inning.

The Phillies were held to three hits (Scott Podsednik, Lou Montanez and Eric Kratz).

PHILS, TIGERS TIE — After being down 2-0, the Phillies forced a tie with the Detroit Tigers in their home park in Clearwater.

Laynce Nix went 2-for-3 and Pete Orr went 3-for-4 with a run scored apiece on the afternoon.

Cliff Lee allowed a couple runs on six hits, including a two-run homer to Ryan Raburn in the 1st. He struck out three in three innings of work.
