UPDATE: Being out of the loop due to being busy, the post season roster was finalized. Looks like I was correct.

People love guessing games. Hell i do. The Phils have until tomorrow morning to pick their 25-man postseason roster before they do battle with the Cincinnati Reds at 5:07 PM in Philadelphia.
It’s a pretty sure thing that the Phils are going with 10 pitchers and 15 hitters. The starting eight is set and the Big Three is also a guarantee. Adding in Ryan Madson and Brad Lidge, that’s 13 guaranteed spots on the roster.
Charlie Manuel also said that J.C. Romero will be ready for the playoffs, giving him the 14th spot. Back-up catcher Brian Schneider, infielders Wilson Valdez and Mike Sweeney and outfielders Ben Francisco and Ross Gload seem to be sure bets as well, givine the Phillies 19 filled spots.
The bull pen can’t just feature Lidge, Madson, and Romero. Antonio Bastardo will give the Phils another left-hander. Joe Blanton will be a valued long-arm if one of the Big Three stumbles or if weather shortens a start. Chad Durbin and Jose Contreras have been good for the Phillies this season as well. With 10 pitching spots filled and 23 roster spots locked up, that leaves thwo hitters left to be put on the roster.
Rookie outfielder Domonic Brown and infielder Greg Dobbs have been up with the Phils for over a month now. Dobbs will be there for emergency situations and Brown will add speed to the outfield and base paths.
There you have it, my guess on the Phils 25-man post season roster.
Maybe they can coax Bake McBride out of retirement.
