Hot (last 7) – Ryan Howard: .357 (10-for-28), 4 R, 3 2B, HR, 8 RBI, 8-game hitting streak.
Not (last 7) – Jayson Werth: .125 (3-for-24), R, 2B, HR, 4 RBI, 9 K.

Player to Watch – Kevin Youkilis: I wish he was playing third base for the Phillies. That’s how good this guy is. Youk is one of the best hitters in the game and he isn’t even deemed a super star. He is batting .316 on the year with 12 homers and 40 RBIs. His last 10 games though have put him on a red-hot tear: .395/2/11. He’s only 2-for-7 against Philly this year but his two hits are a triple and homer and he’s had a lot of tremendous at-bats.

Series Overview: Boston leads the series 2-1… The Phillies are starting to find their groove offensively despite getting shut out Thursday. The Red Sox, on the other hand, have been very good as they climbed their way within three games of the AL East… The Phillies are only 15-14 on the road while Boston is 18-14 at home… The Phillies are in the lower half of batting in the majors while the Sox are fifth. Boston has also scored the second-most runs in the majors. Pitching is what has really been Philly’s saving position as they are sixth in the majors with a 3.69 ERA.
