2012 Philadelphia Phillies Highlight Reel

With the door finally shut on the 2012 regular season the Phillies find themselves on the outside looking in for the first time since 2006.

With that said, we begin our look back on a season to forget, starting with this highlight video by reader of the site as well as a good friend and fellow member of the Dave Matthews Band fan site, Kevin Watkin.

Watkin has shared with us the past few years his highlight video of the Phillies regular season. The nine-minute video is set to Iggy Pop’s “The Passenger,” another great choice of music by Watkin.

Watch the video after the jump.

2011 Regular Season Wrap-up Video

In the midst of a week-long struggle, we can still look back at this incredible 98-win season, the best the Phillies have put together in over 30 years and potentially the best ever.

Big time Phillies fan, Kevin Watkin of (goes by junior94 on the boards), compiled this video together highlighting the Phillies magical regular season from the magical signing of Cliff Lee to their division-clinching win last Friday.

Kevin did one last year as well, which we linked to. It’s good work, ladies and gents. Enjoy the video after the jump.

Phils on board with “It Gets Better”

This is always a comforting thing to read, especially with the latest wave of not-so-pleasant news: the Phillies getting on board with a wonderful cause.

The Phillies players released their own version of the “It Gets Better” videos that are posted on the website each day by anyone. It Gets Better is an organization that helps young teens growing up dealing with bullying and other life problems that have led to so many teen suicides.

The group’s main focus is for homosexual children who are bullied in school. We have seen these bullyings result in some terrible tragedies such as the Rutgers student who killed himself almost two years ago.

Once again, I am proud that the Phillies are on board with something as meaningful as this. Video of the Phillies’ message after the jump.

Tempers flare as Phils rough up Sanchez, Giants

Giants starter appeared frustrated after Shane Victorino's solo homerun started a four-run 4th inning. Sanchez didn't even make it past the 5th inning as the Giants lost, 9-2. (Photo by Jed Jacobsohn/Getty Images)

This has become a very heated rivalry in baseball despite the two teams playing on opposite sides of the country.

It all started last October in Game 3. The two culprits were Chase Utley and Giants pitcher Jonathan Sanchez. Now let’s fast forward tonight.

It was the first time the Phils saw Sanchez since Game 3 of the NLCS. It was also the first time Utley has seen him since he tossed the baseball to Sanchez very sarcastically after being plunked in that game.

It was going to go either two ways: Sanchez bounces back after missing almost 50 days due to injury to shut down the Phils or he and the Giants get roughed up and frustrated in a Phillies laugher.

It started out in Sanchez’s favor, not allowing a hit until Vance Worley’s two-out single in the 3rd. But it was all down hill from there on as the Phils clobbered Sanchez and beat the Giants, 9-2.
