Reading Unveils New Name, Logo; It’s An Ostrich

READING — For now on, the Reading Phillies will be known as the Reading Fightin Phils and their logo will be of an ostrich.

Reading announced almost two weeks ago that they were going to unveil and new name and logo. It had been reported that they registered two different sets of domain names with Fightins and Railroaders as possible choices – the latter being a very preferable choice to a lot of fans.

With that, they decided to go with Fightin Phils and use an ostrich as the primary logo. Their mascot will still be Crazy Hot Dog Vendor, which is a guy in a hot dog vendor outfit riding an ostrich.
