Game 48: Kiss and Make Up

ST. LOUIS — By now everyone has probably heard about the spat in the dugout between Phillies starting pitcher Cliff Lee and centerfielder Shane Victorino.

In the top of the 5th inning, both Victorino and Lee were seen having a heated discussion in the dugout [video] a half-inning after Victorino lost a fly ball off the bat of David Freese in the lights at Busch Stadium last night.

After the ball bounced off the centerfield wall, Victorino watch the ball bounce towards the infield to let leftfielder Juan Pierre play it and throw it back into the field of play. Freese wound up on 3rd with a triple and proceeded to score on the next play to give the Cardinals a 3-2 lead.

Manuel Suspended One Game

Phillies manager Charlie Manuel was suspended one game for his altercation with home plate umpire Bob Davidson in the 8th inning on Tuesday’s game against Arizona.

Manuel will serve his one-game suspension tonight against the Red Sox.

Davidson was also¬†suspended one game as well for his “repeated violations of the Office of the Commissioner’s standards for situation handling.”

Dubee, KK get into altercation

According to a conversation Kyle Scott of Crossing Broad had with one of his followers, apparently Kyle Kendrick and pitching coach Rich Dubee got into a little argument/fight this morning.

The reader @Matty_Ice_215 tweeted Scott about the altercation in which Kendrick said something to Dubee, Dubee grabbed Kendrick and then Kendrick walked away.
