According to the Phillies Twitter account, Carlos Ruiz has won the Mike Schmidt Most Valuable Player Award. Ruiz had a career year, hitting .328 with 16 homers and 62 RBIs and a team-high .938 OPS. All of those numbers were career highs for Chooch.
