ORIGINAL — Two days ago, it was reported that the Phillies and Rangers were close to a trade that would send Michael Young to the Phillies.

The Rangers are reported to be paying $10 million of the $16 million Young would be owed this season. It also hasn’t been divulged what prospects the Rangers are interested in as well.

Today, T.R. Sullivan of MLB.com said that the two teams are ready to make the trade, and that Young will accept the trade to Philadelphia.

Sullivan wrote:

Michael Young’s time with the Rangers appears to be over. Industry sources are indicating that the trade could go down today with Young accepting a move to the Phillies. Young is the Rangers all-time leader in multiple categories but he is headed for Philadelphia.
