PHILADELPHIA — The Phillies are going streaking.
Kyle Kendrick took a no-hitter into the 6th inning and the offense produced just enough in the Phillies 3-1 win over the Marlins, Monday night.
Kendrick lasted seven innings, allowing a run on two hits and three walks, striking out a career-high-tying eight. Antonio Bastardo pitched in the save situation, his first of the season while Jonathan Papelbon was unavailable.
In the 5th, Domonic Brown hit a two-run homer and Michael Martinez scored on a passed ball after doubling, giving the Phillies a 3-0 lead.
In the top of the 6th, Kendrick lost his no-hit bid with Rob Brantly’s lead-off single.
