PHILADELPHIA — The Phillies have placed outfielder Nate Schierholtz on the disabled list with a broken toe.
The Phillies have recalled outfielder Hector Luna from Lehigh to take his place. But it still leaves the outfield very thin.
In 11 games since joining the Phillies, Schierholtz is hitting .219 with a homer and two RBIs. Luna is hitting .246 (14-57) with two home runs and 10 RBIs in 26 Major League games this season.
