Phillies Trade Victorino to Dodgers

UPDATE — Shane Victorino has officially been traded to the Dodgers for reliever Josh Lindblom and Minor League pitcher Ethan Martin.

ORIGINAL — Shane Victorino’s tenure as a Phillie may officially end by 4 PM today.

The Los Angeles Dodgers are working on a deal with the Phillies that will send Victorino to Hollywood.

In Jayson Stark’s report, he said the Phillies and Dodgers have a deal in place that will include Josh Lindblom and another player.

Lindblom, 25, is a right-handed reliever with two years of Major League ball under his belt. Lindblom is 2-2 with a 3.02 ERA in 48 games this season, striking out 43 in 47 2/3 innings.

The Dodgers are also in negotiations with the Chicago Cubs about Ryan Dempster and Alfonso Soriano, according to Ken Rosenthal’s report.

Both trade talks will hinge off each other. If the Dodgers land Victorino, they will cease to pursue Soriano. They plan to have either play left field with Matt Kemp and Andre Ethier filling in the other two outfield spots.
