PHILADELPHIA — A wasted effort at the dish cost the Phillies of their first three-game sweep of the season.
Besides that fact, it was also Chris Nelson’s two-run blast in the 7th inning that prevented the sweep. Trailing 1-0, Nelson hit a two-run bomb off Vance Worley to left-center to give Colorado a 2-1 lead and eventual 4-1 win Thursday night.
The only run the Phils scored was a solo homer by Jimmy Rollins to lead off the 1st.
Worley went seven innings, allowing a run on four hits and two walks while striking out two.
2B: Mayberry (12), Wigginton (8). HR: Rollins (5).
