Polanco Has Torn Tendon in Wrist

Placido Polanco will continue to sit the bench for the next few days as he nurses a couple hand injuries.

Polanco, who has a cut on his finger that is preventing him from swinging a bat, also has a small tendon tear in his left wrist. He said he injured the wrist on Tuesday in a collision with Matt Treanor.

Polanco received a cortisone shot in his wrist today and will miss the weekend series likely. The Phillies, however, do not view Polanco a candidate for the disabled list, which is already filled with enough injured Phillies.

“I have to give that some time to work,” Polanco said.
