The injury bug bites again.
Second baseman Freddy Galvis injured his back swinging during last night’s 6-5 loss to the Dodgers, landing him on the DL with lower back soreness. The Phillies called up Michael Martinez to take his place on the roster, with Mike Fontenot likely starting the majority of the games at second.
This blow is huge to the Phillies offensively and defensively. Galvis has been a wizard in the field at second base as well as leading the team with 15 doubles and fifth with 24 RBIs.
