Cardinals 8, Phillies 3
WP – Adam Wainwright (4-5, 4.45)
LP – Roy Halladay (4-5, 3.98)
ST. LOUIS — After Roy Halladay gave up a two-out grand slam to Yadier Molina in the 1st inning, something had to be wrong with the two-time Cy Young award winner.
In fact there was. Halladay left after pitching only two inning with right shoulder soreness and the Phillies lost to the Cardinals, 8-3. Halladay will have the shoulder evaluated in a couple days.
Molina’s grandslam and Carlos Beltran’s three-run homer off Joe Savery in the 5th inning put the Phillies away on Memorial Day.
