Despite being losing their first two games of the spring, the Phillies seem to have found their groove.
The Phillies shut out the Toronto Blue Jays 7-0 in an impressive day for Phillies pitching.
Cliff Lee started his first game of the spring. Lee went two innings and allowed no runs on two hits and also struck out a batter.
The Phillies only allowed 7 hits as a team.
Shane Victorino got the scoring started with a two-run single in the third inning. Jimmy Rollins and Carlos Ruiz scored on the play.
Ty Wigginton and Freddy Galvis each knocked in a run. Galvis continues his hot start as he is hitting .300 in Grapefruit League play thus far.
Carlos Ruiz went 2-for-2 with a run scored in his first action of the spring.
Laynce Nix was the team’s designated hitter today and went 0-for-3. Nix is still searching for his first hit.
Former Phillies Ben Francisco and Anthony Gose each went 0-for-1.
