Kendrick inks two-year extension

The Phillies have signed Kyle Kendrick to a two-year, $7.5 million extension to open the first official day of Spring Training.

The deal will start this season. Kendrick previously signed a deal worth $3.585 million to avoid arbitration and this one will supersede that previous deal.

Kendrick was invaluable to the Phillies last season. Bouncing back between the rotation and bull pen, he went 8-6 with a 3.22 ERA in 34 games, including 15 starts.
