The Phillies have canceled today’s game. There is no word on when the game will be made up.
The game should have been canceled last night so fans wouldn’t have had to make the unecessary trip or waste gas and money to get to the stadium to not watch a baseball game. That’s right, MLB fouled up this entire weekend by not having a double-header on Friday (even though Florida didn’t want to – pansies).
It will also force the Phillies to now play 33 games in the next 31 days to end the season. It’s a tough pill to swallow with Jimmy Rollins on the DL and Placido Polanco and Raul Ibanez not fully healthy. That’s also not to mention Cole Hamels’ shoulder and worries on Roy Oswalt’s back.
