Player to Watch – Logan Morrison: Morrison is back on the Marlins roster after a brief punishment trip to the Marlins AAA club because of his outspoken, but pretty accurate opinion on Hanley Ramirez as far as a leader is concerned.
Morrison is possibly the brightest player in the Marlins’ organization, despite this probably being his last season in Florida because of his other outspoken opinions on how the organizations is run.
This season, Morrison hasn’t been hitting as well as his rookie season, average-wise. He’s batting a weak .249 but has found his power stroke, hitting 18 homers and driving in 61 RBIs.
Series Overview: In anticipation to Hurricane Irene, Sunday’s game will be moved to Saturday at 1:05. Saturday night’s game is still on, causing the Phils ans Marlins to play a day/night doubleheader. But with the storm approaching, the Saturday night game seems to already be in jeopardy. [UPDATE – Saturday night’s game is postponed until September 15]
The Marlins are the worst team in the division. This should be an easy series for the Phils.
