Today’s Phillies game against the Washington Nationals at 1:05 PM was postponed.
The game will be made up on September 20 during the final Phillies home series against the Nats. It will be the first of a day-night double-header.
Everyone in the rotation will be pushed back a day. Roy Halladay will pitch on Tuesday with Cliff Lee and Vance Worley going as well in the Diamondbacks series.
Also, the unveiling of the Harry Kalas statue, scheduled for today, will be held before Tuesday’s game against Arizona. The ceremony will start at 6:40. That game is also Placido Polanco bobble head night, a double whammy for fans in attendance.
The Phillies could possibly exercise the option of sending Vance Worley down to make a scheduled start and not screw up the rotation too bad. But if they don’t, it will allow Cole Hamels to get some extra rest for his shoulder.
UPDATE: Roy Halladay is a badass. He dragged poor Kyle Kendrick out into the pouring rain to have I catch. Here is a photo of a very intense Halladay and pretty miserable Kendrick throwing in right field.
I would love to hear that conversation: “Kyle, this is how you become so great.” “Yes, sensai.”
