Much like the story was all last season, Cole Hamels pitched great and has nothing to show for it.
A Shane Victorino RBI single was all the offense could muster in a 2-1 loss to the Giants.
Hamels only gave up two runs on six hits in 7.2 innings in the loss. He pitched just as well as Matt Cain, who was able to get the win.
Former Phillie Aaron Rowand had an RBI triple in the third inning. Nate Scherholtz added an RBI double in the seventh to give the Giants the little cushion that they needed.
The pitching will have to be just as good tomorrow as Kyle Kendrick will be opposed by Tim Lincecum.
Dom Brown had the RBI single, driving in Victorino. Come on, Ickey!
