Cliff Lee is finding his groove. And at the same time, it appears the offense is as well.
For the second straight night the Phils put up a complete line up and for the second straight time scored seven runs, this time with out the Chicago surge, as they went on to win 7-1.
Lee pitched eight innings of one run ball, striking out seven while allowing four hits and two walks.
The offense was spread out this time, starting with a two-run double by Chase Utley in the first and ending with a two-run blast by the same guy. His four-RBI night was the break-out night the second baseman needed.
The game didn’t start until almost 4:40 (32 minute delay) due to rain. But luckily the storm was short and Lee hadn’t thrown a pitch yet, preventing the Phillies from wasting a start by an ace.
2B: Utley (2), Victorino (7), Ibanez (14). HR: Utley (2).
WP: Lee (6-5). LP: Garza (2-6).
