Former minor leaguer Poffo dies

Former minor leaguer Randy Poffo died Friday morning. He was 58.

The outfielder suffered a heart attack behind the wheel of his car and died in the accident.

Poffo was a member of the Cardinals & Reds minor league system. In four seasons he hit .254, making it as high as Class-A Tampa.

Many of you sitting there are wondering “Who the hell is this Randy Poffo guy?”

Well Poffo took a stage name of “Randy Savage” and joined a certain wrestling organization called the World Wrestling Federation and is known to many as Macho Man Randy Savage.

Macho Man will go down as one of the greatest wrestlers of all time. His persona is as legendary as his elbow drop. With catch phrases that make today’s “stars” sound like bumbling idiots, Savage stole the hearts of America, making him one of the best role models in the sports history.

Wrestling today has no positive impact on the lives of young children. The once super hero-like stars of the WWF like Macho Man, Hulk Hogan and the Ultimate Warrior have been washed away with punks and freaks who rely on being douche bags than actual role models.

Here at Team to Beat, we salute you, Macho Man. Millions around the country will snap into a Slim Jim to honor your untimely death.

Ooooooooooooohhh Yeaaahhh!
