Phils Win to Close Out Spring

J.A. Happ pitched well and the Phillies offense and defense did a lot of little things right as the Phillies played their last game of Spring Training, beating the Pirates 4-3. The Phillies swept the two-game On-Deck Series at the Bank. Happ went three innings, allowing a run on five hits and one walk, striking out two.

Jayson Werth homered and Raul Ibanez doubled and scored on a Shane Victorino in a two-run fourth that gave the Phillies enough for the win. Victorino, Werth, and Chase Utley each had a pair of hits as well.

The Phillies will play their season opener on Monday against the Nationals in D.C. A series preview will be posted tomorrow.
