Baseball at the Bank is back. The Phillies hosted the Pirates last night in Philly, winning 5-3. Cole Hamels got roughed-up in the third inning, finishing with three runs allowed on eight hits in three innings of work, striking our five. Kyle Kendrick also pitched three innings of spotless ball, striking out two.
Chase Utley and Ryan Howard each homered. Utley had three hits on the night while Brian Schneider had a pair. Schneider has had an incredible spring where he is batting .359.
Howard’s two-run shot in the third tied the game at three. Kendrick had an RBI double in the fourth which was potentially the game winner.
Phillippe Aumont will be starting today against the Pirates.

On Sunday, I will write the opening series preview against the Nationals. Also my game stories will be much more detailed than these little shorts I did during Spring Training because I will be able to watch 90% of the games and because MLB.com is starting to track games play by play again.
