Aumont Looks Good in Encore Performance

Yohan Flande had a rough 10th inning as the Ray beat the Phillies 5-3. He allowed the eventual game winning runs in the 10th, bringing his final line to two runs on six hits in two innings.

Phillippe Aumont knows he had a rough outing in his first appearance as a Phillie last week against Florida State. Spring Training is used to get that rust off and to prepare yourself for a long season. For Aumont it will be in the minors.

Aumont followed up his poor outing with a scoreless effort in which he went 2.2 innings, allowing a walk and two hits. J.A. Happ got the start, going 2.1 innings and walking two, allowing two hits, and striking out twice. Prospect Joe Savery also took a turn in getting wacked around, allowing three runs in sixth on four hits and a walk.

Jimmy Rollins was one of a few regulars who got the start today. He hit a solo homer in the fifth, his only hit of the game. Domonic Brown has continued to impress, going 3-5 with a double and a pair of RBI’s.

Pat Burrell went 0-2 with a walk for the Rays.

Box score.
