Jays Beat Phils

The Toronto Blue Jays took advantage of some pitchers who won’t make the Phillies big league roster en route to a 14-9 win in eight innings today. The big story in this game for the Phillies was Cole Hamels’ first Spring Training start. Hamels went two innings, allowing a run on one hit, one walk and striking out two. The hit he allowed: a solo homer in the first by Jose Bautista to lead off the inning.

On a positive note, Tyson Gillies homered in the sixth and sprinted around the bases. Also Ross Gload tripled, which I would have loved to see.
