Duck Pond is Back

Brandon Duckworth

The Phillies signed Brandon Duckworth to a minor league contract today. They also signed righty pitcher Jason Standridge. The Duck Pond is officially back. From Philly Blurbs:

Duckworth, who turns 34 next week, broke into baseball with the Phillies and was 15-18 with a 4.87 ERA for them from 2002-04, mostly as a starter. The Utah native last pitched in the majors with Kansas City from 2006-08.

Standridge, 31, was a 1997 first-round draft pick by Tampa Bay and most recently was in the majors in 2007 as a teammate to Duckworth in Kansas City.
