Player: Scott Eyre
Number: 47
Position: RP
Bats/Throws: L/L
Consistency: Eyre was easily one of the Phillies best relievers this year. After a terrible April where he compiled a 10.80 ERA in eight appearances, he settled down to be the Phillies most dominant lefty. After April, his last 26 appearances only saw him giving up one earned run.
He made the post season roster, only allowing one run in the NLDS in seven total appearances.
Regular Season Stats: 2-1, 30.0 IP, 22 H, 6 R, 5 ER, 3 HR, 16 BB, 22 K, 1.50 ERA, 1.27 WHIP
Post Season Stats: 0-0, 4.1 IP, 6 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 0HR, 1 BB, 3 K, 2.08 ERA, 1.07 WHIP
Health: His only DL stint was when he strained his right calf. In the off season, he had surgery on his arm which was successful.
Intangibles: As the Phillies best pitcher and veteran in the pen, he certainly was a key member of their pen. He’s a leader and experienced. He had a great attitude and gelled nicely with the rest of the staff.
Overall Grade: B+. He got this grade for being good. Being put on the DL and having a bad April prevented him from getting an A. He was their best lefty and opefully the Phillies sign him back.
