LOS ANGELES – Ronald Belisario had a fun 8th inning that enabled a dramatic come-from-behind win for the Phillies.

After walking Chase Utley and hitting Ryan Howard and Carlos Ruiz to load the bases with two outs, he gave way to closer Kenley Jansen.

Jansen allowed a two-run single on a ground ball up the middle by Hunter Pence to give the Phillies a 3-2 lead and win. After being 0-38 when trailing after seven innings, the Phillies manufactured their first late-inning comeback win of the season.

The Phillies also won their sixth straight game at Dodger Stadium, continuing the success they’ve had there for the past five seasons.

LOS ANGELES — The last month has been about the returns that could change the Phillies fortunes this season.

Finally, Roy Halladay is back in the Phillies rotation.

Ryan Howard Will Be Activated Friday

PHILADELPHIA — The Phillies will be getting back their star slugger.

Ryan Howard tweeted that he will be back in Philadelphia tomorrow. General manager Ruben Amaro said Howard will likely start against the Braves Friday night.

It will be the first time all season the line up featured both Howard and Chase Utley in it.

Amaro: Ryan Howard Could Return to Phils By Weekend

PHILADELPHIA — Phillies general manager Ruben Amaro was on Daily News Live earlier today and he talked about a few things.

The one thing that stood out the most was the status of Phillies first baseman Ryan Howard. Howard, who is with AAA Lehigh and starting at first base tonight, could return to the Phillies by the weekend.

Manager Charlie Manuel commented that after tonight’s game, Howard’s healing Achilles will be re-evaluated and he could potential rejoin the Phillies.

Amaro didn’t rule out the possibility of it either.

“I guess it’s possible,” Amaro said. “But we’ll see how he feels the next day or so.”

Howard has hit .471 (8-for-17) with a home run, two doubles with nine RBIs while walking three times and striking out three times in six rehab games with Low A Lakewood and Lehigh.

Amaro also commented that Howard has been moving well on his feet and that the left-handed slugger feels that he is ready to return to the Phillies.

Utley Will Return Wednesday

Thome: “Dreaming of celebrating on Broad Street”

There has been something missing in Jim Thome’s career.

And those who haven’t followed his career as closely as the people in Cleveland, Philadelphia, Chicago, LA and Minnesota would ask, “what could possibly be missing in the future Hall of Famer’s career.

Sure Thome became the sixth player to slug 600 home runs and is eighth on the list all-time. Sure he’s reached the playoffs a few times in his career.

But what he’s really lacking is a World Series ring.

That could be the number one reason Thome decided to come back to Philadelphia.

Blanton, Kendrick activated

SP Joe Blanton (Alan Diaz/AP)

Starting pitcher Joe Blanton and starter/reliever Kyle Kendrick have both been activated, reported Todd Zolecki.

Blanton was on the 60-day DL and was activated after one rehab appearance with the Single-A Lakewood Blueclaws. He was supposed to pitch today, said Matt Gelb, but the Phillie figured he would be of better use in their bull pen.

Kendrick came off of paternity leave after his wife had a baby girl.

No one will likely be sent back down because it’s September but Michael Schwimer may get sent back down if the IronPigs clinch a playoff berth today.

This is huge news for the Phillies regarding pitching depth. Blanton has been out since May 14 with elbow problems. The Phillies are hoping to use him and Kendrick during the final 26 games in 24 days of the regular season.
