Bullpen Blows Lead; Phillies Winning Streak Snapped

Astros 6, Phillies 4
WP – Wesley Wright (1-2, 3.33)
LP – Phillippe Aumont (0-1, 3.00)
SV – Wilton Lopez (5)

HOUSTON — Throwing strikes killed the Phillies bullpen and their seven-game winning streak.

Phillippe Aumont and Jake Diekman looked bad in the 8th inning and Jed Lowries two-out, two-run double was the result of that. The double gave Houston a 5-4 lead en route to a 6-4 win over the Phillies Thursday night, snapping a seven-game winning streak.

After walking the tying run and hitting the go-ahead run in the 8th, Charlie Manuel pulled a gassed Aumont from his fifth appearance in five days. Diekman followed up by surrendering a two-run double to Jed Lowrie and RBI single by Brandon Barmes to make it a 6-4 game.

Erik Kratz got the Phillies offense going in the 2nd inning with his RBI double.
