WASHINGTON — On the day the Phillies sent two of their starting outfielders to the NL West, the offense showed up against the 1st place Nats.

Juan Pierre, who had three hits hitting in the two hole, stole second and third and scored on a throwing error in the 3rd inning to make it 3-0.

In the 4th, Lee hit an RBI single to make it 4-0. The pitcher then stole second base before scoring on Jimmy Rollins’ two-run inside-the-parker off Strasburg to make it 6-0.

Lee went seven innings, allowing five hits and a walk while striking out seven to drop his ERA to 3.73. It was only his second win of the season.

Last night’s game was great. Hopefully the Phillies will put some young guys in the lineup consistently from here on out and give them a chance to shine. Phatitude > Natitude
