Laynce Nix, who is suffering from a strained left calf, said he felt a pull in his calf when he was running the bases on Tuesday. The outfielder had been playing in simulated games in an attempt to return to the team. Ruben Amaro Jr. announced that Nix would undergo an MRI if see if there is any damage.

Reliever Michael Stutes visited with orothopedist Lewis Yocum on Monday. Yocum and Phillies trainer Michael Ciccoti will meet to discuss the next step for Stutes. He is currently recovering from right shoulder inflammation

Reliever David Herndon visited with renowned orothopedist Dr. James Andrews on Monday. It is likely that Herndon will be shut down and will have to undergo Tommy John surgery. The Phillies haven’t received final word from Herndon if he went ahead with the surgery.
