The Phillies Off Season Tracker

This post will be dedicated to all moves regarding the Phillies’ interests, rumors, signings, and other off season moves that have occurred so far during the winter.

Jan. 6: Phillies signed OF Delwyn Young to a minor league contract.

Dec. 27: The Phillies signed J.C. Romero to a one-year, $1.1 million contract.

Dec. 13: The Phillies have hopped on the Cliff Lee bandwagon, reportedly having made a “spirited late bid” according to ESPN. If the Phillies do get Lee, they will have the scariest rotation in the league.

The Yankees and Rangers have both made generous offers to Lee of seven and six years respectively for over $20 million a year. Are the Phillies willing to pay that much?

Dec. 5: Jayson Werth signs a seven-year, $126 million contract with the Washington Nationals.

Nov. 24: Jayson Werth is offered arbitration but reliever Chad Durbin is not. Werth is a Type-A free agent.

Nov. 22: Phillies first base coach Davey Lopes signed with the Dodgers.

Nov. 15: Phillies signed Hall of Fame second baseman Ryne Sandberg to be manager of AAA Lehigh.

Nov. 11: Juan Samuel is signed to coach first base for the Phillies after they failed to negotiate with Davey Lopes.

Oct. 29: Phillies part ways with left-handed starter Jamie Moyer and left-handed hitting infielder Greg Dobbs.

Oct. 26: The Phillies declined their $4.5 million option on left-hander J.C. Romero.
